Music Theory Workbook for Treble Clef Instruments
Wind Edition
Level 1

"Music Theory Workbook for Treble Clef Instruments" was created by Cleora G. Leist as an aid in teaching her own students. This book is designed specifically for treble clef WIND instruments such as; flutes, clarinets, saxophones, oboes, trumpets, french horns etc...There is a separate set of books for strings. Originally, the "Music Theory Workbook for ...." book series was designed for her private flute students as they prepare for music exams. She found it helpful to specify the clef or instrument in the books as the exams she was preparing students for were all slightly different based on the instrument the student played. Additionally, if a student just needed to learn basic music theory to aid in their ability to perform with a group or perform on their instrument, all the basics could be taught within the context of the clef they were used to reading. After creating the series of books for her flute students, she expanded the series to include bass clef, violin, viola, cello, and string bass.
This book does not include an answer key. It is designed to be used with the guidance of a teacher.
Levels correspond to the number of years a student has been playing. It is possible to jump to different levels within the series as previous concepts are reviewed, however, the higher the level the less review is done and previous knowledge is assumed and there is a greater need for teacher instruction.
The “Theory Workbook for… “ series are the perfect books for private teachers, band, and/or orchestra classes.
This book is broken up into sections. Each concept is introduced, then practiced by the student.
This book will take a student through music theory corresponding with the 4th year of learning an instrument.
